In preparation for your upcoming camp, we advise that the following Code of Conduct will apply for the duration of the tour in addition to the requirements under Article 7 of the Football West Code of Conduct and FFA National Member Protection Policy. CODE OF CONDUCT While on tour the following is expected throughout the duration of the tour and any breaches may result in disciplinary action including suspension, review of your involvement in the team and review of your involvement in any Football West programs, this tour and any further tours. ON BUSES AND COACHES Travel by bus or coach involves travel in a confined space and sometimes for many hours, so your safety and comfort and that of other passengers is important. Therefore, the following shall apply: • Treat drivers with respect. We rely on drivers for our comfort and safety. • Follow the directions of the driver and tour officials at all times. • Avoid loud and/or attention seeking behaviour. Noise can be a distraction to the driver. • Movement out of seats while the bus is in transit is dangerous and illegal. • Respect the comfort of other passengers at all times. • No eating or drinking allowed on the bus, without bus driver permission • Do not do anything that may cause damage to the vehicle, seats or any interior fittings. • Wear seat belts at all times as required if available. • Remove your rubbish and ensure your area is left clean and tidy. • Remember to take all luggage and personal items before you exit the vehicle. • Any damage to the bus caused by a participant will be the financial responsibility of the participant or their parents. Note: These rules also apply to train travel if travel by train is necessary. ON PLANES A flight involves hundreds of people in a confined space over many hours. It is easy to upset other passengers. Therefore, the following shall apply: • Show respect and consideration for fellow passengers. • Follow the directions of flight attendants and tour officials at all times. • Avoid loud and/or attention seeking behaviour. • Avoid excessive movement around the plane. • Wear seat belts at all times as require or instructed by flight attendants. • During quiet times, make sure you are quiet especially at night when cabin lights are dimmed. • Be mindful of the passenger behind you and keep your seat upright during meal times. • Do not overburden flight attendants with requests. Be sensible when ordering food and drink. • Remember to take all hand luggage and personal items before you exit the plane. • At airport terminals, stay with the group or, if allowed by tour staff to walk around, make sure you are not alone and you are always aware of the next meeting point and time. Do not leave your luggage unattended at any time. • Keep your hand luggage and any other luggage or personal items with you, at all times. • Any damage to the plane caused by a participant will be the financial responsibility of the participant or their parents. ACCOMMODATION VENUES When staying in an accommodation venue, all participants must behave in an acceptable and polite manner and show respect for the venue staff and other guests at all times. While in the accommodation venue: • Follow the directions of your team officials, tour officials and tour guides. • Comply with all rules relating to ‘in room’ times and ‘lights out’ as well as keeping all noises (including TV or audio devices) to minimum. • Ensure that you are on time for all allocated departure times, meal times and activities. • Remain in your group’s designated areas and do not leave the group area or accommodation venue without the permission of the appropriate tour official. • Notify tour officials of any in-house activities you wish to be involved in e.g. use of the swimming pool, spa, gym, TV room or other recreational activities. • Do not drive any motor vehicle including golf carts, mopeds, scooters or motor cycles. • Do not invite other guests into your room or enter the rooms of other guests. • Do not order room service or other guest services without permission of tour officials. • Do not enter the room of other team members unless permitted to do so. • Do not allow other team members to enter your room unless permitted to do so. • Please remember that allocated rest times are for the benefit of all players and officials. • Do not use the telephone in your room without the prior permission of the appropriate tour official or unless there is an emergency. • Do not order pay tv or pay per view programs in your room without the prior permission of the appropriate tour official. • Accommodation rooms, group areas and meal areas must be left tidy. • All incidents, accidents or concerns must immediately be reported to team officials. • Football West will not be held responsible for any damage to property caused by participants. In such cases where property damage occurs, parents will be responsible for all costs incurred. • Any damage to property caused by another person should be immediately reported to Football West otherwise the occupants of the room will be responsible for all costs incurred. RESPECT OF OTHERS While on tour, it is important that you show respect for the place that you are visiting, the people that live there as well as other visitors and attendees. Therefore, the following shall apply: • While on tour, your group may visit places of historic, cultural or religious significance. Please be polite and respect the beliefs and traditions of others and behave appropriately. • When travelling overseas, any cultural habits of the country you are visiting should also be observed and respected • Loud comments and/or inappropriate gestures are insensitive and unacceptable. • If attending formal events, you are to behave appropriately and respectfully. • At all meal times, please be mindful of other guests and behave appropriately and with good manners. • Show respect towards your fellow team members, opposition team members, match officials, coaches, managers, chaperones, tour officials and staff. MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY Football West encourages the positive use of media and technology to promote County Camp. To ensure Football West and participants use media and technology appropriately the following will apply: • You agree to be filmed, photographed and otherwise be recorded during Country Camp and any subsequent tours for the purpose of education, development and the promotion of the Country Camp and international tours; • Be respectful and professional when using technology including text messages, Facebook, email or any other web based/online communication platforms; and • Do not share or publish any inappropriate photographs or video footage on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or any other social media platforms that may bring yourself or Football West into disrepute. PROHIBITED ITEMS • Cigarettes; • Alcohol; • Illegal or non-prescribed drugs and performance enhancing drugs; • Matches and lighters; • Laser pointers; • Fireworks; • Weapons of any kind; • Any other items that may cause harm to yourself or others; • Any items listed in your travel documentation or ticket that is noted as prohibited by the relevant airline or transport provider. It should be further noted that players are not permitted to smoke, consume alcohol or take illegal or performance enhancing drugs at any time while involved in training, games, events, programs, tours or activities conducted or sanctioned by Football West. BREACHES OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT Breaching the Prohibited Items section of the Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action by Football West. A breach of the Code of Conduct or the National Member Protection Policy may result in disciplinary action while on tour including suspension from training and/or games while on tour or dismissal from the tour. Football West also reserves the right to take further disciplinary action in accordance with the Football West Disciplinary and Grievance Regulations, which may include, but is not limited to, a fine, suspension, or expulsion from the representative team.Signature(Required)Untitled
