2025 Female and Gender Diverse Referee Course

The Junior Football Match Official (also previously known as the Level 4 course) is the entry level referee qualification for full-sized matches in football. This course explores key refereeing topics providing current interpretations of technical concepts, including challenges, handball, offside, game management, match control and positioning concepts. Football West will be holding a female only course at the Sam Kerr Football Centre in Welshpool on Monday 14 July from 6pm - 9pm. The course is usually valued at over $170 but will be free for all successful attendees. Everyone who completes the course will also receive a full referee kit, whistle and cards; all free of charge. Becoming a referee is incredibly rewarding and comes with great benefits. It is an excellent way to join a community and develop personally; building leadership, confidence, resilience and communication skills. It provides a clear career pathway and is a great way to earn money and stay fit at the same time!
