This year marked the first season of the Youth Club Championship (YCC) – a new competition designed to recognise and reward clubs that demonstrate strong youth development, coaching standards, and pathways for players.
As we move into the review phase, Football West is seeking feedback from clubs, coaches, players, and parents to help shape what comes next. Your input will help us understand how the first year of the YCC has worked in practice, what has been most valuable, and where improvements can be made for 2026.
The YCC forms part of the new junior competition structure introduced following the Junior Football Review. The competition was built around five key principles – player development, like-for-like competition, accessibility and inclusivity, minimum coaching standards, and clear progression pathways.
This survey is an important step in evaluating how those principles translated on the ground. It looks at how the competition ran, how it was received by clubs and participants, and what can be done to make next season even better.
Feedback gathered through this survey will be reviewed alongside operational data, match reports, and club audits to help refine scheduling, eligibility, bonus and deduction systems, and the overall competition experience.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Your input will directly inform how the 2026 Youth Club Championship is delivered and ensure it continues to provide meaningful development opportunities for players, coaches, and clubs across Western Australia.
